Desert luxury at its most spectacular.
Scottsdale and Greater Phoenix offer something no other US city can match: world-class resort infrastructure surrounded by dramatic Sonoran Desert landscape. Sprawling spa resorts, championship golf, starlit outdoor dining, and 300 days of sunshine make this the ultimate offsite destination for groups who want to feel genuinely transported.
Scottsdale is America's resort capital. The concentration of world-class spa resorts — Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Andaz, Fairmont Princess, The Phoenician — in a single metropolitan area is unmatched anywhere in the country. For offsites where the hotel experience itself is part of the program, no destination delivers more consistently.
The geography is the product. The Sonoran Desert at sunset, the McDowell Mountains at dawn, saguaro cactus silhouetted against an orange sky — Scottsdale provides a visual and sensory backdrop that instantly separates people from their routines. Teams that arrive here genuinely decompress in a way that urban destinations rarely achieve. The creative thinking that follows tends to be different in kind, not just degree.
And the programming is extraordinary. Desert jeep adventures at sunrise, private tequila and mezcal tastings, hot air balloon flights over the valley at dawn, championship golf at Troon North or Whisper Rock, and a restaurant scene anchored by some of the finest chefs in the Southwest. Old Town Scottsdale adds walkable dining, galleries, and nightlife. Scottsdale over-delivers on every dimension.

Perched at the edge of the Sonoran Desert near Pinnacle Peak, the Four Seasons Troon North is the most stunning luxury resort setting in the Phoenix area. Casita-style rooms cascading down a desert hillside, two pools, an exceptional spa, and the legendary Troon North golf courses next door. For executive groups where the setting needs to be genuinely jaw-dropping, this is the answer.

At the foot of Camelback Mountain, the Phoenician is one of the great American resort hotels. 645 rooms and casitas spread across 250 acres of manicured desert landscape, with 8 pools, a Centre for Well-Being spa, a remarkable golf course, and meeting facilities that can handle groups of any size. The Phoenician is the most complete resort package in Arizona.

The Andaz reimagined the Scottsdale resort experience with a design-forward, arts-driven identity. Set along the Scottsdale Waterfront with walking access to Old Town, it features private bungalows, a stunning pool complex, Weft & Warp Art Bar, and a curated program of local artist residencies. Ideal for creative and tech teams who want resort luxury without the stuffy country club feel.

A sprawling 750-room resort with one of the finest conference and meeting complexes in the Southwest. The TPC Scottsdale — home of the PGA Tour's Waste Management Phoenix Open — is next door. Seven pools, a full-service spa, five restaurants, and a programming team that has hosted some of the largest corporate events in Arizona. The go-to for large SKOs and conferences.

The Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley is the newest ultra-luxury arrival in the Phoenix area, and it has immediately set the bar for design and service. Inspired by the Frank Lloyd Wright aesthetic — all organic shapes, water features, and desert materials — it is among the most architecturally striking resort hotels in America. For intimate executive retreats where the experience must be flawless.

The Camelback Inn has been welcoming groups to Paradise Valley since 1936, and its casita-style layout remains one of the most beloved resort formats in the country. 453 casitas spread across 125 acres at the foot of Morro Mountain and Camelback Mountain. The spa is legendary, the golf is excellent, and the warm service is exceptional. A true Arizona icon.

The Sonoran Desert is most breathtaking in the hours around sunrise, when the light turns everything gold and the silence is absolute. A private guided jeep tour through the desert — navigating washes, stopping at ancient saguaro groves, learning the flora and geology from a naturalist guide — is the quintessential Scottsdale experience. Pairs perfectly with a champagne breakfast at a desert overlook.

Floating over the Phoenix Valley at dawn — watching the desert wake up, the city grid stretch to the horizon, the mountains glow in the morning light — is one of the most transcendent experiences any team can share. Private balloon charters for groups, followed by a champagne toast and catered breakfast on the desert floor. An experience that no one forgets.

Scottsdale is one of the premier golf destinations in the world. Troon North Monument and Pinnacle courses, TPC Scottsdale (home of the Phoenix Open), Whisper Rock, and Estancia all offer private group golf experiences of the highest caliber. Whether it's a full team golf day or a side group while others spa, Marco can arrange priority tee times and group packages.

Scottsdale's restaurant scene has matured into one of America's finest outdoor dining experiences. Bourbon Steak at the Fairmont, Proof at the Four Seasons, and Prado at the Omni all offer exceptional private dining for groups. Old Town Scottsdale's restaurant row and the Scottsdale Quarter deliver modern American and farm-to-table dining at its best. Restaurant buyouts and private rooms available through Marco.

The Southwest's proximity to Mexico makes Scottsdale a natural home for exceptional agave spirits programming. A private guided tasting of rare tequilas and mezcals — led by a certified sommelier — paired with traditional Mexican bites is one of the most popular group activities in the city. Casual, conversational, and consistently one of the highest-rated experiences in post-event surveys.

Scottsdale's resort spas are among the finest in North America. The Phoenician Centre for Well-Being, the Four Seasons Troon North spa, and Willow Stream at the Fairmont Princess consistently rank among the top resort spas in the country. A full group spa day — combining treatments, thermal pools, and outdoor relaxation areas — is one of the most effective team reset experiences in any offsite toolkit.
60-75F, warm and dry
Peak season for a reason. December through February delivers the perfect offsite climate: warm, sunny days; cool evenings; zero humidity; and zero rain. The Scottsdale resort scene is at full tilt, hotel rates are at their highest, and the city hums with energy. Book 4-6 months ahead for top properties in January and February.
75-95F, warming fast
March and April are excellent, with perfect outdoor activity weather and resort rates that haven't yet hit summer lows. The desert wildflowers bloom in March. By May, temperatures are pushing 100F and summer pricing begins. Spring Break in March can create competition for hotel rooms in Old Town. Book early.
100-115F, very hot
Summer in Scottsdale is extreme. Temperatures regularly exceed 110F, making outdoor activities impractical from 10am-6pm. The upside: hotel rates drop 40-60% from peak season, and the resorts are essentially empty. Groups that plan programmatically around the heat — morning activities, spa and indoor programming at midday, pool evenings — can find remarkable value.
80-100F, cooling down
September is still hot, but October marks the return of ideal weather. By mid-October, Scottsdale is back to perfect offsite conditions and hotel rates haven't yet returned to winter peaks. November is one of the finest months in the desert — warm, clear, uncrowded, and competitively priced. An underrated window that experienced planners know well.
Proven 3-day frameworks your team can make their own.

Very easy. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is one of the best-connected airports in the US, with direct service from virtually every major hub. The airport is 10-20 minutes from most Scottsdale and Paradise Valley resorts. For smaller executive groups, Scottsdale Airport (SDL) handles private aviation. American, Southwest, Delta, and United all operate heavy service into PHX, making it straightforward for distributed teams arriving from multiple cities.
November through April is the ideal window. The desert climate is at its finest — warm, dry, sunny days and cool evenings that make every outdoor experience exceptional. January and February are peak season with the most vibrant energy. October is an underrated sweet spot with perfect weather and rates that haven't returned to winter peaks. Summer (June-August) is extremely hot but offers dramatic savings — groups that plan around the heat can find excellent value.
Budget $400-$950 per person per night all-in during peak season, with summer rates 40-60% lower. Resort rooms range from $380/night at Camelback Inn to $800+/night at Four Seasons Troon North or Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley. Mid-tier options like the Andaz, Fairmont Princess, and Phoenician run $420-$550/night. Add $100-$180/person/day for F&B and $75-$200/person for activities. Marco's group rates average 20-40% below retail.
Frame it as Scottsdale. While Phoenix Sky Harbor is the airport, and Greater Phoenix includes Paradise Valley and Tempe, the luxury resort experience your team will remember is distinctly Scottsdale — Old Town, North Scottsdale, the Sonoran Desert, Camelback Mountain. Scottsdale carries the brand recognition as America's desert resort capital. You can always mention 'Greater Phoenix area' if team members are flying into Sky Harbor, but market the experience as Scottsdale.
Yes, completely. Marco's Offsites Pro service handles end-to-end coordination for Scottsdale — hot air balloon charters, jeep tour operators, championship golf tee times, spa group bookings, restaurant private dining and buyouts, desert evening event venues, and ground transportation. Scottsdale's top vendors book months in advance, especially November through March. Our local relationships ensure priority access and vetted experiences.
Both, but with different structures. For relaxation-forward offsites (leadership retreats, team recharges), Scottsdale's resort setting is unmatched anywhere in the US — the spa culture, outdoor spaces, and desert programming create genuine renewal. For work-heavy conferences and SKOs, the Fairmont Princess, Phoenician, and JW Marriott all offer world-class meeting infrastructure. The key is designing the programming to lean into whichever tone you're setting.
