Good things come to those who bait!
You will start off this experience at Torpedo Wharf to catch some local crabs using a combination of snares and a net. Alex will provide insights on the nature of crabbing and fishing in the bay area, the variety of crabs that are available and why the bay is home to a large and distinctly diverse ecosystem. Once you arrive at the specified location, Alex will provide a thorough overview of the equipment and tactics needed to catch as many legal crab as you possibly can within the allotted time frame. He also will provide instruction on cooking and cleaning the crab.
Alex will share his deep insight to how this has been an avid hobby of his for over a decade and all the different types of wildlife recognized in the bay. If you're as much as a foodie as he is, please ask him anything about food (specifically seafood) and he will share his culinary insight for the best way to prepare truly delicious meals!

Alex has been crab fishing for over a decade and considers it a large passion. He has teamed up with like minded individuals to provide truly unique experiences that are both useful and fun! We would like to offer to teach you all the intricate skills to be able to successfully and competently learn The Art of Crabbing on your own! Alex was a professional chef and loves cooking and along with being outdoorsy. He believes too many people have a disconnect between their food and where it comes from. Our goal is to to meet new people, enjoy time being by the ocean, teach those willing to learn about west coast fishing practices and harvest its bounty with respect to mother nature. Alex is a born and bred San Francisco native and has spent ample time traveling throughout the US and internationally which has helped him being understanding and a great teacher.
